2011 Verona Opera Festival
The most beautiful art city in Veneto, after Venice, nestles in a meander of the river Adige, on a hilly site planted with cypresses. A flourishing Roman outpost, Verona was immortalised by Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" (1595) which reflected the struggles between to families on 1302. Apart from the spectacular Roman Amphitheatre which is the venue for the prestigious summer opera festival, the city offers the magnificent fortified Old Castle and Scaliger Bridge, Piazza dei Signori, and San Zeno church. NB. Our seats for the operas are located in the new Gold section in the front of the orchestra stalla: offering outstanding viewing.
